McHales - Mayo to England?

Has anyone come across an area in England that was home to the the first wave of people that fled Mayo? I'm looking for info on Michael McHale (born in England - 1855). He married Mary Coleman (born in Wales). They moved to the USA and my grandfather (Michael McHale) was born in 1883 in NJ. He married Mary Flanagan and settled in Cleveland. Any info would be gratly appreciated.
