GG-Grandparents James and Louisa Midgley McKale married at St. John's Church, Norristown in 1848. According to censuses, he was born in PA, she in England (emigrated 1843). He worked in the cotton mills. They had five children: William, b. July 1850; James, b. Nov. 1856; Anna/Annie, b. Dec. 1859; John Thorp(e) (my g-grandfather), born March 1863; and Adelaide. In Norristown for the 1850 census. Possibly moved to Philadelphia by 1860. By 1890, James had died as Louisa is listed in Philadelphia City Directory as widow, with sons John and William living with her. By 190: John had married Anna Wetherstine (2 children -- Louisa and my grandmother Mary); James had married Anna ? had seven children (Warren, John, Theodore, George, Frances, Margaret, and Helen). William and Annie lived with their mother. By 1910, Louisa and James Jr. had died, William lived with nephew Warren. Is there anyone out there related?
