I am also looking for McHales who left Sligo for the Boston area after l870. My great grandmother, Nora McHale arrived about 1880 and worked as a maid in Framingham and Ashland. She had sisters, Julia who married Millay (sp?) and they lived in Hyde Park, Maria who married Fancy and lived in Marlborough. She married William Maxwell in about 1890 in Framingham and they lived in Ashland for a short while and then settled in Marlborough. She had a number of cousins, Richard, Thomas and James McHale who farmed in Southboro, MA. Her mother ultimately came over, but I have not been able to determine about her father. Her mother was Mary Roache McHale and her Roache relatives farmed in Southboro as well. Her husband was from Louisburgh, Mayo, but I do not know where in Mayo she emigrated from.
