Hi There. I am Alan Briggs and my mother was a McHale.

In 1872 Patrick McNamara, son of Patrick married Bridget McHale the daughter of Martin at St. Alban's RC Church, Blackburn, Lancashire and where I play the organ to this day. The witnesses at that wedding were John and Catherine Moran. There were dozens of McHales in this parish and I am still sorting them out. My guess is that we are dealing with the same family originating in County Mayo, Ireland. Michael and Patrick mcHale appeared in Blackburn in 1866+7 and lived in a poor part called Moor St. at nos. 81 and 92.They were tailors.

see also my other reply on this subject.
Have a nice day cousin !!!!
