I think we may have a link! My GGGGGrandfather I think was Michael McHale who married someone named Mary. I suspect he was born in around 1820 in Ireland and she around 1846 in Pennsylvania.

They had another son named Michael, also born in Ireland around 1844. I think he also married someone named Mary E. who was born about 1847 in New York.

They had a son named Walter Calvin McHale born about 1867 in Georgia. I know Walter was a blacksmith and Birmingham was an iron worker town. It makes sense that they would've followed in the career of thier father. Could you share your information with me?
