Marnie
You have another long lost relative - several dozen of us in fact. I am Richard Conway, Great Grandson of Laurence Conway, brother of your Great Grandfather Richard Conway of Wishaw / Shotts in Lanarkshire.

Laurence Conway and Bridget McHale had about 10 children
(my source material is confusing) one of whom was John Conway, a Coal Miner who worked in the Wilsontown, Forth, Haywood area of NE Lanarkshire. He married Mary Hughes and had two sons, Richard & Laurence

After Richard's mother died, his father John re-married to Rebecca Wright and they went on to have many more children.

The Richard Conway (husband of Rose Anne Moore / father of Bernard) was therefore Grandson of Laurence & Bridget not their son although they may well have had a son Richard.

Richard re-married after the death of Rose Anne and went onto have another 3 children.

Please drop me an email direct either on the address logged on this site or to:

richard.conway@homecall.co.uk

WE have some old photographs sent from Australia but very few names. WE also have a photograph of Bernard in his Seaforth Highlander's uniform before he left for France.

Thanks

Richard
