Hi Michael -
without dates it's difficult to attempt to tie those names in with anyone.
I'm not familiar with the level crossing cottage and my family come from the Tavnaghmore/Tonebeha area of Knockmore and any info I have not about my own tree is stuff I've come across while searching my own line so is still mostly from the same area of Knockmore.

Your best bet is to get access to Knockmore Parish records. The Rogers may be an easier way to search as it isn't as common as McHale in Mayo so you might have an easier time finding the correct McHale's that way.

Sorry I can't be of any help.
Regards,
Shona McHale.
