My wife's great-grandmother was Julia McHale b. 1864/66 at Archbald, Pa. Her parents, Michael & Mary McHale, were born in Ireland, probably in Co. Mayo. A widow, Julia McHale, b. c1808, lived near them in Archbald and was probably Michael's mother. They immigrated in the mid-1850s.

McHale is a common name in both Mayo and the Lackawanna/Luzerne coal fields. Still, though, I suppose there's possibly a connection back in the old country.
