Pamela - Yes, I am decended from John's brother Myles.
His daughter Bridget married Lawrence Conway and had a very large family, most of whom came here to Scotland in 1850s/60s. Their son John is my Great gt. Grandfather.

The extract below, from Hillary Andrew's book states that Myles died leaving a young family, which would suggest that Bridget had siblings, but I have no information on them. From Bridget's death registration I know that Myles was a farmer and her mother was Mary Surdwell.

The extract below also mentions Thomas and Edward.

John MacHale had 6 brothers
The eldest, Thomas accompanied John to Maynooth in 1807. After that, little is known about Thomas.
The next brother Martin married and had two daughters. Martin died young and his two daughters were reputed to have been reared by the Archbishop.
Myles the next brother died in 1816 aged 29, also leaving a young family
John’s brother James became a priest and he died in 1833.
MacHale’s older sister Anne lived to be 82 and died in 1861. The Archbishop was said to be very attached to his sister and was deeply grieved at her death. Anne married and had one son, John.

The Archbishops brother Patrick married and died in 1831, leaving two sons, Dominick who died in 18 51 and Thomas, who became a priest and later a professor at the Irish College in Paris.

The Archbishop’s younger brother, Edward had a large family who remained at the family district of Laherdane and whose descendants live there still.
