Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum

will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Still hoping for something of a miracle, I suppose. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Betty Schmidt, we have our full family tree on the American side of things, but have not yet found the Irish link beyond John Martin and Mary Bridget. All we know of them is that John Martin McHale was born in County Mayo in 1800, and Mary Bridget Nealon in Co. Mayo in 1810, and then that three of their children - Bridget (1827), Michael (1830) and Patrick (1834) were born in Mayo prior to emigration to the U.S. (Pennsylvania) shortly after Patrick's birth. We would love to find out more specifically where in Mayo John Martin/ Mary Bridget resided, and further, any other family they had (parents, siblings, and so forth) and whether there are currently descendants of that McHale branch still in Mayo. I have looked at everything I can find online, but haven't established anything more definitively; there appears to be a (weak) suggestion of Ballina, or of Lough Cullen - but neither seems correct. Anything? Anyone?
