McHale in Upper-Lower Canada

OK, I hit a major road block researching for my McHale's in Canada. The trail runs cold around 1870. According to the 1871 census, Ellen McHale was unable to read or write. Her husband Martin passed away between 1864-1871.

Both Martin (b ? - Ireland) and Ellen (b 1825 - Ireland)
came to St Marys, Perth. The first child was born in 1853 somewhere in Canada the last in 1864.

I would assume they immigrated around 1850-1853, marriage could have taken place around the same time. Nothing else is known.

I'm looking for others researching for McHale's between Ireland and Canada during the same time period. Maybe we can develop a family link.
