My wife's g-g-grandfather was Michael McHale, b. ca. 1825 Killala, possibly lived in NY for a while, as the 1880 census lists a son born in NY in 1849/50. He then lived in Carbondale ca. 1850 - 1861, then moved to Olyphant, died 1901. His wife was either Jane Kennedy (per Olyphant history book) or Bridget ? (per 1870 & 1880 Census). Their son, John P., born 1852, died 1914 in Binghamton, NY was my wife's ancestor. Daughter Mary Jane, b. 1860 was an educator in Olyphant for many years. Michael also had 10 other children, though no Edwards. Do you know who your Edward's father was? Could he have been a brother of our Michael? Thanks.
