Cemetery for Millington McHone

Does anyone know for certain what Cemetery Millington McHone is actually buried in? He died Feb. 15, 1865 while serving as a Private in Co.'H' 28th Iowa Vols. in Savannah, GA.

In the Record of Death and Interment paper for him it states he was buried in the Laurel Grove Cemetery, Lot 1537, Row 3, Grave 2.

In an "unconfirmed" listing in the National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina he is listed there as being in Lot 1537, Row 2, Grave 2.

Does anyone have an idea as to how one would go about finding out "if" "when" "where" & "how" our Civil War Ancestors would have been moved from one grave to another?

Any information appreciated.

Thanks, Carol Kunz
