Alison, Thanks for the info on Daniel McIlwee. I had traced that branch of the family back to Mary Carr and Daniel McIlwee but I didn't know that they were originally from Ireland. Every McIlwee or McElwee family that I have traced always goes back to an area in County Donegal called the Fanad Peninsula. Specifically the townland of Dargan. Have you ever connected the Campsie McIlwees to the McIlwees from Shotts, Scotland? My greatgrandfather Patrick McIlwee was born in Maryhill, Glasgow in 1857 and moved to Shotts in 1865 and on to America (Colorado) in 1881. I will check my info on the Campsie McIlwees and will get back to you. Again, thanks for the info, Roy McIlwee, Scranton, Pennsylvania.
