Hello Kim
My ancestor John McElwee/McAlwee emigrated to New Zealand in the 1860's. His parents were recorded as John and Mary McElwee but I cannot verify this from any proven certificates or registers to date. John of course seems to be a common name and it is difficult to seperate the various John's in the families. I am also not aware of any brothers or sisters names and therefore cannot offer any assistance to you on a Patrick McIlwee. The spelling of the surnames for the families seems to be mixed at times as to either using an I, E or A.The Mary McIlwee that I located when doing some Australian research does not appear to date to be a relative. I noted this in the Family Forum so that it may be of assistance to anybody looking for a young Irish lass that emigrated to Australia about that time. If you believe that there may be any family links as you research further I will be pleased to hear from you.Ken McAlwee
