Zorina,

I noticed your name. My grandmothers name was Zora McElwee Johnson. She lived in Delaware County, Harlem Township, Ohio. Her father was Joseph W. McElwee b. 1845. He was born and died in Delaware County, Harlem Township, Ohio. His father was John H. McElwee b. 1818 in Fredrick County, VA. and died in Delaware County Ohio. He was my ancestor that moved from Virginia to Ohio. John H's father was William McIlwee b.1791 Frederick County, VA. died l840 Frederick County Va. Note the spelling change...Elwee Ilwee.

One of William's children was Andrew Jackson and would have been a brother of John H. I believe there were 8 children.

I wonder about the connection of Zora names and others with this name in the family?

Many of my McElwee family is buried in Thancher Cemetery, Delaware County Ohio. They lived in and around Center Village.

I believe you will find further information at www.familysearch.org. Good luck!
Karen
