I have spent a few minutes reading the forum postings and I have found them to be quite interesting. I if for no other reason then just courious answered an advertisement from Colorado which claimed to have a McILwee News letter and a bunch of information concerning history and ancestory. Well to make a long story short this turned out to be fake! SO.....I will say this much I am in NC because I retired from the Marine Corps here and I like the place but my family is from Maryland. We visited Fredrick Va. for family reunions but I was young and that was a long time ago I have three brothers John, Larry and William and two sisters. My fathers name was John Morris McILwee and he had two sisters and two brothers I think My Grandfather was Theodor Franklin McILwee or switch the first and middle name. My Grandmother was from Ohio so what was my grandfather doing there? I don't know. I do hope that you find the answers that you seek because when I do locate a McILwee they don't seem friendly like the John McILwee in NC. Have a great day and A wonderful life! I am very Proud to be a McILwee.
Cliff
