“Madisonville Route Two---Mrs. Guthrie Croft passed away at the Sweetwater Hospital on Monday, March 8. The funeral occurred at the Chestua M.E. Church South on Wednesday being conducted by the Rev. T.R. Witt. Interment was made in the church cemetery nearby. She leaves a husband and two small children, a father, three brothers and several sisters, who grieve her loss.

“Obituary---Reba McInturff, wife of Gertha Croft. Age, 22 years, 11 months and 20 days. Died March 9, 1936, in the Sweetwater Hospital after an illness of several days.
She leaves a husband, two small children, Inas and George; a father; five sisters, Mrs. Reed Pesterfield of Madisonville Route 2, Mrs. Jim Derrick of Etowah, Mrs. Wesley Collake of Route 2, Mrs. Hugh Harrell of Route 2, and Mrs. Ross Moses of Route 2; three brothers, Mr. Charley McInturff of Nashville, Mr. Kay McInturff of Madisonville Route 5 and Mr. John McInturff of Route 2, and a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her departure.
Reba numbered her friends as she met them, and will be missed by many.
The funeral was conducted March 11, at the Chestua Camp ground, by the pastor, Rev. Ted Witt, and with Biereley Funeral Home in charge. She was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby, by the side of her mother, who preceeded her to the grave about a year ago.

Tears and heartaches, still remain,
Reba, dear, for you.”
