Jones County GA marriage records show:
Dec. 3, 1816 Taylor WHATLEY married Soukey McInvale [this was Wilmouth Taylor Whatley and Mary Soukey McInvale - I am tracing this line for a friend]
May 23, 1822 Mcinvale, John - Reeves, Lydia
Aug 30, 1825 Mcinvale, Robert - Phillips, Mary
On the 1830 census for Jones Co GA, are families for James McInvale age 15-20, with female age 30-40 [mother? or maybe mother in law?], 1 f 0-5, 1 f 5-10, 2 f 10-15; Robert McInvale age 30-40, 1 f 20-30, 1 m 0-5,1 f 0-5; and William Whatley, age 40-50 [b.1780-1790], wife same, 1 m 0-5,1m 10-15, 1m 15-20, 1f 0-5,2f 5-10,1f 10-15. [This could be Wilmouth and Soukey? as I've seen several times where William and Wilmouth are used interchangeably]
There are also 2 McInvale's - James and John C. - in Campbell Co GA and another James McInvale in Burks, Talbot Co GA. The latter is age 60-70, wife 50-60, 2 f 15-20. The two former in Campbell Co are on the same census page and are as follows: James McInvale 20-30, 1 f 15-20, 1 f 0-5; John C. McInvale 50-60, wife same, 1 f 5-10, 1m 5-10, 2m 10-15,1m 15-20.
From this, it appears that the James age 20-30 [b. 1800-1810] in Campbell Co is likely the son of the John C. McInvale age 50-60 [b. 1770-1780]living right by him. There must have been at least one older McInvale male who was the father of the bunch in Jones Co. GA as the young James there is just 15-20 [b. 1810-1815]appearing to live wwith his mother or mother in law and siblings in that county. Robert McInvale is likely the brother of this James and is the same one who married Mary Phillips. I don't know where the John who married Lydia Reeves is but he later shows up in Talbot Co on the next census. The oldest of the McInvale bunch is the James in Talbot Co. [b. 1760-1770]. It is likely, but not confirmed, that he is the father of the John who married Lydia Reeves, the Robert who married Mary Phillips and the Soukey [Mary Susan or Mary Souky] who married W. Taylor Whatley. Could old James also be an older brother to the John C. in Campbell Co.? As noted below, they were both born in North Carolina.
On the 1840 census, old James McInvale age 70-80 and wife 60-70 are still living in Talbot Co GA - no others with them.
In Campbell co. GA,Dist. 652, we still have John C. McInvale, age 60-70, wife same, 1 male 15-20. Giles McInvale is on the prior page of the census, age 20-30, wife 15-20, 2m 0-5. A couple more pages away is William McInvale 20-30, wife same, 1 f 0-5. Thus far, I would say that John C. McInvale b.1770-1780 had at least these sons: James b. , Giles b. 1810-1820, and William b. 1810-1820.
Robert McInvale, age 30-40, wife 20-30, 1 m 0-5, 1 m 5-10, 1 f 5-10 is in Bibb Co GA - not sure if this is the same Robert who was in Jones Co on the 1830 census
There is also a John McInvale 40-50, wife 30-40, 1 m 5-10, 1 m 10-15; 1f 5-10,1f 15-20 in Monroe Co GA.
In 1850, old James McInvale age 82, is still in Talbot Co GA - indicating he was born 1768 in North Carolina. He is living with John McInvale 53, Lydia McInvale 47 [probably the Lydia Reeves who married in Jones co in 1825],Marion McInvale 8,Nancy McInvale 18, Elizabeth McInvale 6, John Alsabrook 22,Matilda Alsabrook 27. If old James is the father of the John who married in 1825 in Jones Co - perhaps he is the father of Soukey and Robert who also married there as noted above.
By 1850, John C. McInvale has moved to Talladega Co. AL and is living there with his wife Susan - no others in household. John C. is 76 b. NC [in abt 1774] and Susan is 74 b. SC [in abt 1776]. Living near him are his likely sons: John D. and Giles. Here is their info:
John D. McInvale b. 1813 TN, wife Elizabeth 38, and children
Emily 12, Anna 11, Mary 8, Adaline 6,Nancy 4, Elizabeth 3 and Cyntha 1. Giles b 1817 TN, wife Mahala 30, John 10,Elizabeth 8, Sarah 6, Nathan 4, Jane 3, Giles Jr. 2, and Isaac 1.
In 1850, Robert "McInvail" 49, b.Ga 1801, is in Houston Co., GA with wife Mary [Phillips?] McInvail 38 [b. 1812]b GA, and children as follows: William 18, Francis 16, Emily 14. His son, James M. McInvail, 22, is living next door.
