Dear Stewart,

Saw your request for informatin on the McKechnie Genealogy Forum. What a surprise. I just finished inputting all the McKechnie's, McInnes's etc. today on the computer. In fact about two hours ago I was typing your name.

My husband's mother was Vera McKechnie, so that is why I was doing the family. I don't have alot more than you do yet on Neil McKechnie. Born 1820 in Inverness, Scotland(but that is not verified), married Sarah McEachern on 9 Jul 1867. Sarah was born 15 Oct 1841 and died in 1933. Neil McKechnie died 14 May 1893 in Glenelg Twp, ON. Canada.
Niel and Sarah McKechnie had these children: Dougald, Catherine(Katie), John(Jack), Hector(this one is my husband's grandfather), Angus, Charles Cameron and Mary Jane.

I have more information on those children if you want it. For now Dougald's children were: Sadie, Eleanore(Nellie), Percy, Neil J., Archibald(Archie), Mary, Carrie, Carrie, Charles and George. Yes, there were two Carrie's. One died at birth so they named the next one Carrie.

I live in Calgary, AB. Canada, but right at the moment I am in Basingstoke, England where my husband is working on a contract job. I am going to Scotland on Wed to see where my gggrandparents lived. Then I plan to go over to Ireland to see where they married and both were born.

You can still reach me at the address I gave, as I can pick it up here. Hope this helps some.

Donna
