John McKechnie and Catherine McKechnie (also her maiden name), maried 31 DEC 1857, Central District, Glasgow, are about half a generation out by birth dates to be part of our family. John is 46 and Catherine is 40 in th e 1861 census. William McKechnie's parents (confusingly John McKechnie and Catherine Mooney) did not marry until 1851, so neither John nor Catherine are their children.
If John and Catherine's Charlotte is aged 2 at the time of the 1881 UK census, then she was born in 1878/79 in Glasgow, Scotland, so she couldn't have died on March 13, 1849 aged 67, and been buried in East Greenwich, Rhode Island as per your other postng re Charlotte McKechnie.
