Hi there,

Not sure if you are still actively searching because this was awhile ago.

For years, I have been searching for my 3X GR grandfather, Gilbert McKECHNIE but after his last daughter was born and baptised in Esquesing Township, Halton, Ontario in 1857, I could find out nothing more about him.

All I knew was what I had discovered from paying Scotland's People for any Gilbert McKECHNIE anywhere in Scotland from about 1790-1820 and only came up with 1 that fit!!

Imagine my surprise when I discovered recently that he died in 1877 in Sabine County, Texas and left none of his estate to any of his surviving children in Ontario, Canada - didn't even mention them ??

Are directly related to this family? Since my discovery, I have filled in as much as I've been able to of the descendants of Gilbert's parents John McKECHNEY and Mary STEAD / SKEID who both died in the province of Quebec, Canada.
