Hi Stewart
I see that the message I am responded to was posted back in 2001, so I hope this gets to you. I am interested in the McKechnies & Macdonalds from Mull, specifically the Neil McKechnie who left Mull for Canada as a widower with most of his children about 1840. Your comment:
"...and finally my ancestors who arrived from The Isle of Mull about 1845" makes me believe this is the same Neil.
Neil was married to Elizabeth McLean and they had 9 or 10 children. I have had a fair amount of success with the MacDonalds all over the world (to a lesser extent in Canada) but very limited success in tracking down the descendants of Neil. Could you help?
Regards
James Keen
