Hi Joan, Can you tell me if your Robert McKechnie was born in Belfast and could he have been born 1799. My Robert was living in Kingston, Ontario in 1846 and had been in the army prior to this date, in 1823 he was in Glasgow as a cotton spinner. You rarely find the McKechnie name in Ireland at the turn of the century. Thanks, Wendy
