Larry, I can tell you that two of David, the Ferryman's sons, were David and James, and they marr'd two daughters of John and Mary Cunningham, Margaret and Jean. Old Davids son, Thomas, died with children, and his estate was purchased entirely by a newcomer, James Peebles, who had married Old Davids daughter, Mary. Old Daves daughter, Margaret, md. a Robert McKee, but I do not know where they fit in. Old Davids son, Robert wife Susannah were parents of David and Robert (named in old David's will, 1793, as their dad, Robert, died in 1782. I read lately that he drowned??) They also had two girls, Mary, husband Hugh Torrence, and Elizabeth, who marr'd Samuel Sinclair Jr. His father and the McKees were in court battle over who got to run the ferries, and old David was out of business a while. Elizabeth & Samuel Jr. were parents of 10, one Hiram, banker, who mard. Sarah Cunningham.(Prob. some of the above.) Other of Saml Jr and Elizabeths kids marrd. 2 Edmundsons, John Peebles, Robinson, Rose and Edgar. I know nothing about any of the others you wrote about. I do not believe I am in a direct line to old David, but a cousin I have always been confused, as have others, about Alexander, the Tory, who seems to have hung around McKees Rocks, and James, who actually founded it. There are some at Slippery Rocks, too, but I haven't spent much time on them. Notify Administrator about this message?
