Paul, I appreciate your letter, saying we need to separate truth from fiction. That is exactly my purpose.
It took awhile to prove that Robert, d. 1780, sp. Susanna, was David son, not Capt. Robt, wife Elizabeth, in Westmorland
Hours after I answered your letter, I was in the hospital, (just a virus, they thought) and now I'm full of meds and going to rest and take time to consume what you wrote.
I am particularly interested in Capt. Robert, wife Elizabeth, in Westmorland, friends of Gen. St. Clair. I've not been able to find much personal history,but there was a dedication done 1929, for Robt. who died 1814 & Saml., d. 1782, intestate, cemetery no. of Greensburg. They call them bros. A geneol. insists Robert is father of my Saml.based on facts someone pencilled in the mard. names of Samuels Partition, the same year, 1814, tho Saml. had been dead since 1782. I recd.receipts signed by Samls. family, with their proper names at the Partition.naming Robert's and
Samls. showing mard. names.of Capt. Roberts kids, but land descriptions are different. Someone has added my bunches' last names and they are wrong, goofing up my records. In othe words, the same list of Samuels family, w/married names is the same as the kids on Robert McKees Will.
Someone has added Samls. list of kids to Roberts Will (with one extra name, Samuel.)
I know Samuels is correct, as I've followed up on the Pierce, Lyons, Patterson, McConnells Anything you have on children of Capt. Robt. and Elizabeth would be appreciated.
They were all neighbors in Hempfield.
I can't even figure out what I mean myself, so will sign off. Thanks so much. So glad to see the name of Robert's son, as he is not on the false list someone provided. Donna
