I've just started my research on McKelvie's and Lockharts.
I have a hand written tree which was passed on to me by non-research family and it's a great start but it doesn't have much detail. It does say that Christina married a Lockhart and that Christina was somehow a McKelvie from the Isle of Arran. Christina came to NZ with three of her daughters at age 57 in 1851. The author of the note is a Neil McKelvie. I suspect that Christina unknown married McKelvie and had John born Edinburgh 1818 then married a Lockhart and had James, Alexander, Agnes, Mary, Isabella Ferrier, Katherine and Janet. Christina may also have been known as Jane.
I'll keep the group posted on this.
