Re: McKerchars in Scotland - by S.K.McKercher

I have located a number of my ancesters and several other families with the McKerchar, or McKerachar, name in the Perthshire region of Scotland, in Kenmore and round Loch Tay in particular. It appears that the McKerchars settled there well before the "Forty-five" rebellion and it is not likely that they took part in that event as the district lay quiet throughout the rebellion.

My family emigrated to New Zealand in 1858.
