Hi. My McKernans were also from that Parish in Phila at the same time. Not sure of a Henry but do know the following:
James McKernan was born in Ireland on April 18, 1828, and died on August 10, 1904 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He immigrated to the United States in 1851.He married Jane Buckley, from Ireland on June 15, 1857.Jane was born in 1837 and died on March 10, 1902. Jane's parents were Richard Buckley and Jane Holbart.Jane immigrated to the United States in 1852.They were married at St. Francis Xavier Church at 24th and Green Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There is no information known on James' siblings other than John. James and Jane lived their adult lives at 2208 Clayton Street and 2321 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
James is burred at the Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (section B, Range 5, Lot 6).There is a faded military tombstone for him. There is also a tombstone entitled Bennett. Also burred with him are his brother, John (burred on January 5, 1866 at age 35), his great-grandson, George Bennett (buried on May 1, 1990 at age 78), his son James (burred on August 31, 1916 at age 58), his daughter, Sarah, a.k.a. Sallie, (buried on September 28, 1930 at age 51), his grandson, Edward (buried on April 1, 1904 at 5 months of age) and three other relatives, exact relation unknown, John (buried on September 6, 1864 at 11 months of age), James (buried on November 2, 1871, age unknown) and Thomas (buried on April 22, 1875 at age 3).
