The infomation I have on my McKinlay's is very limited. I have a Martha McKinlay married to George Thomson last heard of Living in Ireland and presumedly died there. There son John Thomson left Ireland (I think the family went from Scotland)and married Christina Young in Glasgow. Settled in Hamilton coal mining his son James Thomson spent some time in New Monkland mining and then moved back to Crossford, Lanarkshire. I know there was a George McKinlay living in Crossford and don't know if there is any connection. The family names they could have married into are Hair, Bell, Anderson, Coltart, Thomson, Young, Rankin, Shearer. Does this information mean anything to your research ?
