Correspondent for the Galveston-Dallas News at Healdton, Oklahoma since July 23 1888. Mr. McKnight was born in Orange County, Indiana in 1860. He went from Indiana to Richland County, Illinois in 1869 and from there to Cooke County, Texas in 1877 where he lived three years and then went to Montague County, Texas in 1880, locating near Saint Jo. He began teaching school in Cooke County in 1879 and followed the profession of teaching in Cooke and Montague Counties until 1887 when he went to Healdton and engaged in the drug business. He has been at Healdton ever since. Mr. McKnight was educated in the common schools in Illinois and Texas. In 1885 he married Miss JENNIE GORDON, daughter of Dr. JOHN A. GORDON of St. Jo, Texas. He lived on a farm until he began teaching.
