I found my Mcknights in Lauderale Do., AL, and your Mary may be connected. Lauderdale has a wonderful website. It's just north of Choctaw, and I believe there were Spains there, as well. My Alexander McKnight fits as her father. His daughter, Martha, was born in 1820 there, before they moved to MO. let me know if you need more info. cjlincoln@charter.net Do you know where her parents were born? That's how I tracked Alexander, but still don't know who his wife was. Common male names were Samuel and Robert. That helped me piece it together.
