Hallie McLean Shryock
Can anybody solve the problem of Hallie McLean Shryock?
Given that the name is spelled McLean, McClean, and McLain in various records, it still seems she married long after she died.
According to death records in Kentucky, Hallie McLain SHryock died in 1858.
However, according to the following newspaper article abstract, she married in 1870.

MARRIAGES - LOUISVILLE COURIER-JOURNAL - OCTOBER, 1870
SHRYOCK - McCLEAN - At Calvary Church, in this city, on the 18th inst., by the Rev. Wm. H. PLATT, Mr. Charles G. SHRYOCK to Miss Hallie McCLEAN, both of this city.
The only Charles G. Shryock of Louisville, is Charles Gideon Shryock born 1841, son of Gideon Shryock and Elizabeth Pendleton Bacon.
Rhea Johnson, in her 1945 Shryock genealogy lists Hallie as Hallie Snead, wife of Charles Gideon Shryock, no dates given, notes only that Hallie died with her first child, child not named.
However, the following death record indicate that Hallie died before she married.
