Scott,

Your line is like this: Immigrant James Macklemore (born ca. 1661, Ayreshire, Scotland, died 1734/5, Bertie Precinct, NC), father of John MacLemore (born ca. 1698, Surry County, VA, died 1767 Sussex County, Va.), father of Burwell McLemore (born ca. 1721, Surry County, VA, died 1798, Sussex County VA), father of Burwell or Burrell Jr., etc. "Chief" John McLemore of the Cherokee Indian Nation was son of Charles MacLemore (a younger brother of John MacLemore above in your line, and so 1st cousin of the elder BNurwell) who was an Indian trader and interpreter during the French and Indian War.

Hope that helps.

Jim McLemore
