There was a David McLin in Coweta Co. Ga. he was born @1780, I believe in S/C. He married a Francis ?. He died in 1852. He had at least one son, and a daughter named Mary S. McLin. Mary married John Ira Byrd in 1834, in Coweta Co., Ga. Could this David be the son of Hugh?
