Would be very interested in what you have found because Harriet's daughter Sally McMackin is my ggrandmother on my father's side (Sally married Levi Dunn) and the date of her and her brother's birth were prior to Harriet and John's marriage date. I have not been able to find info to show if Harriet was married previously or if Sally and her brother were born out of wedlock. You are right the birthdates of the other children do not match Harriet being their mother either. John had to have been married to someone else prior to Harriet or either they adopted a lot of children. Maybe there is truth to the 4 wives. I do not live in TN so it is hard to search records. Would be happy to share what I have on the McMackin family. How far back do you have?
