Beverly, Would the Cemetery where Andrew McMackin is buried be OLD PISGAH METHODIST EPISCOPAL CEMETERY on OLD PISGAH ROAD near Vale, and Hollow Rock, in Carroll Co. TN ?
WOULD YOU KNOW THE PARENTS OF NANCY ROGERS who married Andrew McMackin ? OUR ROGERS LIVED IN CARROLL CO. TN BY 1823 AND HAD MOVED THERE FROM MONTGOMERY CO. NC ( which is now Stanly Co. NC where our Rogers lived along Long Creek then in 1779-1823 ). By 1841 the Rogers lands were taken into form Stanly Co. NC, and Stanly Co. NC is a border county of ROWAN CO. NC. After my Rogers moved to Carroll Co. TN and lived near Vale and Hollow Rock, many of them were buried in OLD PISGAH Cemetery. Tina

Per the " Desc. of James Alexander McMackin, Sr. b. 1742 Ireland who married Barbara Moyers" list given to me by John T. Wright in Feb. 2001, the spouse of Andrew McMackin b. Jan 05, 1776 was Mary Johnson. - Tina Rogers Beller July 2003.
Per Lynn Franklin's info, James A. McMackins Sr.'s son, was Andrew McMackin b. 1785 NC d. bef. 1860 had married Nancy Unknown. Nancy born about 1790 NC; they had children : James McMackins b. abt. 1812 NC; William McMackins b. 1813; Michael McMackin b. bet. 1816-1820 NC; Andrew M. McMackins b. abt. 1820 NC; David McMackins b. abt. 1832. Son Michael McMackins born 1816-1820 md. Lucinda Lipe b. 1825 TN. They had sons John H. McMackins b. abt. 1844 TN; George N. McMackins b. Feb. 1847 TN; William H. McMackins b. 1848 TN.

James McMackin who mard. abt. 1836 ( could this be error and should read 1736 ? ) somewhere in Pennsylvania to a Susanna.

JAMES McMACKIN JR.
James Alexander McMackin, Jr. and ANDREW McMACKIN of NC purchased land in Carroll County around 1826. Their relationship has not yet been established. James's family lived in the Seventeenth District, and Andrew's lived in the SIxteenth District, around Hollow Rock.
James Alexander b. 4-9-1790 in NC. On 5-21-1818, he m. Elizabeth Frick b. 8-24-1795, in NC. James d. after 1860. Barbara, their first child, b. 9-16-1819, m. Lil Weeks. Davids b. 2-13-1821. He first m. Amanda Ruff ( 1826 ) on 12-24-1864. Later he m. Elizabeth ( 1836 ). David d. 7-21-1891. James b. 7-25-1825, and Elizabeth, his wife, b. in 1835. Calib Alexander b. 1-27-1830 d. 1-26-1878. He m. Maria or Mariah France Harper b. 11-4-1843, d. 3-22-1915.
ANDREW McMACKIN b. in 1785, d. before 1860, his wife NANCY b. abt. 1790 NC. according to the 1830 census they had seven sons. Five possible sons are recorded.
JAMES b. abt. 1812 in NC, and on 12-17-1843 m. Elizabeth Portefield, the daughter of Samuel and Jane Erwin Porterfield of Sullivan County and Carroll Co. TN. Elizabeth b. in 1818 in Sullivan County. By 1840 they were in Carroll County where he was a merchant.
WILLIAM b. in 1813 m. Harriett b. in 1825.
MICHAEL b. 1816--1820 in NC m. Lucinda b. in 1825

Jane Porterfield of Carroll County was my great, great grandmother. She was buried at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Samuel Porterfield was born in Sullivan County. Elizabeth Porterfield McMackin was my great great aunt. James A. McMackin's chart came from ROLAND McMACKIN of TUscumbia, AL in 1972. ( Submitted by Mrs. Thomas Lockwood )
