William L. Rogers b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC married Nancy and are the parents of both Joshua A. G. Rogers who married Susan/Susannah McMackins ( may be daughter of ANDREW McMACKINS ), BASIL ROGERS who md. REBECCA UNKNOWN ( could she too be a McMackin, most think she might be a GREEN.
BASIL and Rebecca Rogers had a daughter, MINTER LEE ROGERS who married DAVID McMACKINS ( son of JAMES ALEXANDER McMACKINS, Jr. ) and I have just posted their info on here before this posting.
When William and Nancy Rogers moved to Carroll Co. TN in about 1823, they moved with their adult children, as well as other Montgomery Co. NC families who moved in a mass migration out of NC.
FREDERICK ROGERS b. 1803 NC is another son of WILLIAM and NANCY ROGERS ( making him a brother of both Basil Rogers and Joshua A. G. Rogers ) and Minter Lee Rogers McMackins was the niece of FREDERICK ROGERS.
I am told that FREDERICK ROGERS chartered and built the OLD PISGAH METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH where the cemetery is located. FREDERICK ROGERS was also the PASTOR of OLD PISGAH CHURCH per some. The Church is long gone, but the cemetery still has 3 standing tombstones in it :
WILLIAM L. ROGERS ( who d. 1842 Carroll Co. TN at age 72 yrs ) and his wife
Nancy who d. 1860 Carroll Co. TN at age 85 yrs. , along with the one other standing tombstone of
SUSAN LOWERY JORDAN. Susan JORDANS husband was WILLIAM JORDAN and he too is buried in OLD PISGAH but we have not seen his tombstone.
In later years Old Pisgah Cemetery lost so many of its tombstones of those buried there like the COX, GREENS, ROWLANDS, MARTIN, families ( though Seth Martins tombstone is place in the ground face up ) due to mowing procedures there at the cemetery.
OLD PISGAH CEMETERY in Carroll Co. TN, has had no help in maintenance for some years, as I understand it, so the person who volunteers to mow would place the tombstones down on the ground and mow over them with his brush hog which resulted in the carerra marble tombstones being destroyed over time with the rain damage and etc. ( So few of these early tombstones are left. ) I am just thankful that my GGG Grandparents tombstones are still in tact ( William and Nancy Rogers ).
I do have a list of Old Pisgah and I can't say if it is correct or not, but it was given to me by someone and here are the names of those listed within Old Pisgah ( not to be confused with NEW PISGAH ) down on HWY 114 :

Ezekiel Rogers d. May 1855 ( his wife is buried in TX where she moved with her children after the death of Ezekiel )
Josephone D. Rowland ( wife of John W. ) Dec. 26, 1851 - May 15, 1876
