I haven't been able to get beyond 1826 with any real success, because of the amount of McMains who keep naming their children after their fathers and grandfathers, which has made everything very confusing, also some of the records at Newcastle where they seem to of all settled at that time were destroyed during the war, and also it appears that they were Catholic (Jacobites possibly), so they don't always appear in Church of England records. However, back to your question, I have not yet come across an Abraham, but Robert does appear to be a family name, used at least from the 1800s to the early 1900s, but it may of been used from even early, especially if they were Jacobites (Robert the Bruce and all that}. Also it does appear that a number of McMains have been disappeared at various times from the UK, either they died or went to the US or Canada, most of them I think were ship builders or involved in carpentry of some sort.
