Hi Judy,
I have two uncles, Gideon Jefferson McMickle, born around 1811, and Christopher Columbus McMickle, born Oct.25, 1830, both born in Surry County, North Carolina, that moved away. I'm not sure where these two went, but I know that some of my ancestors ended up in Georgia. Their parents were Sinclair J. & Mary Woodruff McMickle. They also had a brother, John Jackson,(my line) and a sister, Permiley.
I also have an uncle, Wendell,(not sure of spelling) who moved away. He was born in the early 1900s in either Surry Co., N.C. or Grayson Co., Va. His parents were John Columbus & Mallie Virgina Cornett McMickle.
Let me know if you find anything more on the McMickles. Hope this helps. Debbie
