My grandmother was Catherine Tennent Dunlop McMuctrie. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1903) She married Robert Loughton Kerr (date unknown) Robert was born in Innerleithen, Scotland in 1888(??) They immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1918/1926.(guessing on date) Robert joined the Canadian Mounted Rifles (2nd Rfts) in Canada. Interesting enough, I found that a Wiliam Kerr joined in January,(1915 50th Battalion) (1st Rfts) James Kerr joined the same, Canadian Mounted Rifles,13th Regiment,in March. So, we have Trooper William in Jan., Trooper Robert in Feb. and Private James in March. They all joined in Pincher Creek, Alberta. Were they brothers? I do have the military information. Unfortunately, I have no information on Robert's parents, other than that his next of kin was stated on his military records as a Mrs. Robert Kerr, High Street, Innerleithen, Scotland. James's next of kin is listed as Mrs. Sarah Coleman, Pincher Creek, Alta. William shad next of kin as follows: Thomas 22 Albert St., Forfar, Scotland, Scotland )What does that mean?)
Any information would be appreciated.
Deborah Beauregard (nee Kerr)
