Jim, just a note to all others confirming your information...

In the letter to the Secretary of the Treasury sent by her brother, Judge John McNairy, on behalf of his sister, Mary (McNairy) Hamilton, dated 1834, in which she was requesting the 1/2 pay pension of her father-in-law, Thomas Hamilton, these relationships are clearly laid out.

She did say in the letter, however, that she was the mother of 10 children ("some now dead"). I have a listing of 10 children, but have been unable at yet to verify all the information.

If you are interested in Hamiltons, sent me a personal email and I will provide you with my research report. These Hamiltons are not who most people think they are.
