It has been nearly ten years since you posted your query. You have likely moved far forward on this research and know much more than I do!

My husband would be related to your McPhatter line. Elizabeth (aka Betsey) McPhatter was b. 12 May 1779 in Argyllshire - daughter of Archibald McPhatter (McFatter) and possibly Catherine Kerr.

She married James Thomson in the same place and came to Ontario eventually settling in or near Puslinch about 1830. I have no further information on the McPhatters at this time.

Do you know if there is a listing of all the McPhatters who came with the family of Archibald and his son, Neil?
