Thanks. The Irish community around Leadville, CO included surnames Starr, McPhelemy, O'Loan (Loan) Smith and McQuaid. It is said they all knew each other (or were related) in County Tyrone, Ireland. They first settled in Lowell and Lawrence, Mass. Tom Starr (Bridget's brother) was a wealthy gold miner near Leadville who traveled back to Mass. and brought the other families out to CO. A descendant and researcher of Smith/McPhelemy traveled to Ireland last year and found his Smith and McPhelemy original homesites in Ardstraw Parish of County Tyrone in the areas therein entitled Dunteige and Lisnacreaght. So I have reason to search in or near that area for Starrs and McQuaids. Unfortunately, I have nothing on Patten.
