All that I have on this family is Eugene Thomas McQuade's biography, which follows:
McQuade, Eugene Thomas, lawyer, was born in Brooklyn, NY, Mar. 17, 1898, son of Owen and Anna (Gorman) McQuade. His father came to this country from Ireland and settled in Brooklyn. Eugene T. McQuade was graduated LL.B. at the Brooklyn Law School of St. Lawrence University in 1925. He was admitted to the bar in New York in the following year. Meanwhile, from 1919 to 1924 he was employed as a branch manager with the Asia Banking Corp. in various cities in China. Settling in New York City in 1925, he served a law clerkship with the firm of Lewis, Garvin & Kelsey, with which he remained associated until 1933. In the following year he joined the firm of Tompkins, Boal & Tompkins, which became Tompkins, Boal & McQuade and later Boal, McQuade & Fitzpatrick, of which he was a member at the close of his life. His firm conducted a civil practice that included admiralty law. At his death McQuade was general counsel for the New York City advertising firm of Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn, Inc., the Johnston Mutual Fund, Inc., and the Christmas Club, a Corporation. Apart from his law work, he was a director of the Graphic Arts Mutual Insurance Co. and the Christmas Club, a Corporation. Active in the affairs of the American Bar Association, McQuade served as a member of its committee on state legislation during 1932-35, committee on Far Eastern law of the international and comparative law section from 1946 to 1951, committee on international double taxation from 1951 to 1957, committee on copyright law during 1957-63, and the committee on foreign tax problems from 1963 until his death. He also served at one time as president and a director of the Mercantile Library Association. Furthermore, he held membership in the New York State Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Delta Theta Phi, India House of New York City, and the Scarsdale (N.Y.) Golf Club. In religion he was Roman Catholic and in politics a Republican. Reading was his principal recreation. He was married in Chicago, Ill., May 11, 1927, to Kathyrn Louise, daughter of Otto Jacob Stein (q.v.), and had two daughters: Barbara, who married James Francis Farrell, Jr.; and Carol Deming. Eugene T. McQuade died in Carmel, N.Y., Oct. 18, 1965.
