Edward McShane, Upper Creggan, Co. Armagh 1826

I have found a marriage record for my ancestor, and one of the witnesses was Edward McShane. The marriage took place in Upper Creggan, Co. Armagh, November 1826. Could Edward McShane be related to the McMahon family? Friend? The other witness was Margt Marks.

Did this Edward McShane come to America in 1846 with the McMahon family?

Any help is appreciated.
