Ordered that the sheriff of the county take the estate of William McSHURLEY deceased in to his hands and administer on the same according to law, and it is ordered that Thomas GASH, Samuel PANGBURN, John DYE (later in Pleasant Twp, Brown Co OH) and James McKAY or any three of them being first sworn are appointed to appraise the personal estate and slaves if any of said deceased and make a report to the next court.

Life Estate or Dower Slaves - A required record for County Clerks, "Lists of Dower Slaves" Any owner holding a life estate in slaves was required to submit an annual list to the county clerk "of the names, sex, and ages of such slaves." Have not been able to locate any of these records
1828 Oct 18 John McShurley, William McShurley Jr, Miles Conway & wife Catherine (McShurley), William Davidson & wife Mary (McShurley), sell 57-1/2 acres to John Green for $200. This is a part of the tract sold by James Davidson and wife Catherine (of Clermont Co OH) to William McShurley & corner to ROBERT DAVIDSON. These kids are settling the estate of their father William McShurley Sr. What happened to the other 23-1/2 acres? Why has it taken 20 some years to settle Wm McShurley's estate??
