Sorry, don't know Jeremiah.
My Patrick McSweeney was born 1850 and married in Ireland before emigrating to Australia. He did live in Melbourne, Victoria (Carlton is a suburb of the city of Melbourne) and I guess it's possible Jeremiah could have been his brother: my Patrick was also keen on the name Mary, naming two of his daughters so!
