I am trying to trace connections to Patrick Joseph McSweeney,1811-1894. He was born in Cork, lived in New Zealand and spent the last 11 years in Sydney, where he died. He was married to Elizabeth Josephine Divan(spelling uncertain). They had 8 children, including Augustus, Honora, Alice and Justin.
Patrick was a builder and contractor, and so was Justin. Justin was also a timber merchant.
Patrick seems to have travelled quite a lot, as his name is on several shipping lists. He may of travelled to Boston, before coming to New Zealand. Only the last 2 children were born in New Zealand.
Patrick's father was also called Patrick. His mother was also Elizabeth.
