Yes! It is very difficult locating the exact County in Ireland of our ancestors. One resource I am pursuing is the "Civil Registration Of Births" in Ireland which began in 1864. The Family History Library of the Mormon Church has this on micro-film but is a time consuming process.
Suggest you check the city in which you live and see if there is an LDS library.
Have been told that the area in and around Macroom, County Cork has a large population of McSweeney's. Have evidence that mine are from the parish of "Kilmichael" County Cork which is just South of the city of Macroom.
